Allied Health Assistant
More practice, more progress
Our speech and occupational therapy allied health assistants help young people practise their goals more often, guided by their therapist.

Who it's for
Allied health assistant (AHA) sessions suit children, teens and young adults who see, or are starting with, one of our speech pathologists or occupational therapists, and who benefit from:
- Regular, repeated practice of therapy goals
- Building on new skills between therapist sessions
- Extra support getting ready for school, routines or new situations
How it helps
Your child's therapist designs the program and sets clear goals. Our allied health assistant then runs focused, engaging sessions using those activities and reports back to the therapist, who reviews progress and updates the plan.
Benefits

Frequently asked questions
What is an allied health assistant?
An allied health assistant (AHA) works under the guidance of a speech pathologist or occupational therapist to deliver therapy activities that support your child's goals.
Will my child still see their therapist?
Yes. Your child's therapist plans the program, sets the goals and reviews progress regularly. AHA sessions add extra practice in between.
Why choose allied health assistant sessions?
More frequent, focused practice helps skills grow and carry over into everyday life, and AHA sessions can help families make the most of their therapy funding.
AHA sessions support our speech therapy and occupational therapy programs.
